Bio

Married, Charlotte Fitch, September 1947 Flavius S. Tworek entered into eternal life on June 2, 2016. He was born January 24, 1921 in Duncan, Nebraska to the late John and Mary Tworek. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer, W-4, with an extensive Naval Career. A veteran of WWII (present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor), he held the following decorations: American Defense, American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, good Conduct, WWII Victory, Navy Occupation Service, National Defense Service and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was also in the service during the Korean and Vietnam Campaigns. He loved fishing, bowling, gardening and singing in the church choir. He is survived by his four daughters, Catherine "Cathy" Bartlett of Lansing, MI, Laura Heffner (Robert) of Virginia Beach, Margaret Ingalls (James) of Celina, TX and Charlotte Rivera of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Angeline Slovinski and Teresa Schwank and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Fitch Tworek; sisters, Minnie Tworek, Emily Bowles, Lucia Placzek, Rose Kusek and brothers, Leo, Steve and Alvin. There will be a service conducted at 11am, Thursday at Kellum Funeral Home with a one hour visitation prior to the service starting at 10am. Burial will be conducted at 1pm in Hampton National Cemetery with full US Navy military honors to be rendered. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Thank you to the staff of Bay Lake Assisted Living for their care these past years.
