Floyd “NUB” Young, 94, born July 2, 1925, in Anna, Texas. Passed away on March 26, 2020, Bonham, Texas. Floyd was a member of the Christian Church. Floyd married Jean Carruth Young on December 22, 1945, they were happily married for 74 years. Floyd was drafted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served from 1943 to December 1946, during World War II. He not only served his country in the military but served his community as a 32nd degree Mason. Floyd worked with his father as a carpenter for 5 years after he was discharged from the service. In 1952 he went to work for Howels Furniture as an appliance and television repairman. In 1960 he decided to go into business for himself as a television repairman. A successful business for 25 years until his retirement. Floyd and his wife jean loved to travel from coast to coast and border to border. He loved to dance with his with on Saturday night out. He loved raising nuben goats and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed a good cold “Bud” on a hot summer day. Floyd was well taken care of by the Clyde W. Cosper V.A. Nursing Home. Where he remained from January 30, 2018 till his death. Floyd was preceded in death by his parent John and Mary Young, one sister and 5 brothers. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held private for family only with Dr. Doug Deuel, Officiating. The family has requested for the funeral services to be recorded and will be posted the following day on Floyds, obituary wall for family and friends to view. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Danny Todd, Dustin Todd, Robert Todd, Justin Garner, Steve Harlow and Jeff Harlow. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne, TX, or another church of your choice. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory,.
