Herald Democrat May 25, 2000 Ernest Young Van Alstyne - Services for Ernest Eugene Young, 72-year-old Van Alstyne resident who died Thursday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Flesher Funeral Home here. The Rev. Rev. Jimmy Tarrant, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mr. Young was born in Melissa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Martin Young. On Oct. 18, 1946, he married Ima Jewel Ireland in Van Alstyne. A World War II Air Force veteran, he had retired from civil service as a maintenance worker. He was a member of the Mantua Lodge AF&AF No. 208 14 years and First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne. Surviving are his daughters, Janet Krebbs of Sherman, Brenda Loftice of Howe and Lena Southerland of Frisco; son, Joe Young of Van Alstyne; brothers, Johnny Young of Riverside, Calif., Elbert Young of Van Alstyne and Floyd Young of Bonham; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
