Bio

Funeral services for Miron Miles age 57 years, who died at his home in ward 7 November 1 after a long illness. Mr. Miles, who was a prominent stock man and planter of this parish, is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Hugh Roberts; seven sisters, Mrs. H. O. Roye of Downsville, Mrs. Sam Mims of Yazoo, Miss., Mrs. Knox McClumn of Downsville, Ms. F. Ham, Monroe; Mrs. J. L. Wade of Arcadia, Ms. R. M. Murphy of Downsville, Mrs. Sam Brazzil of Shreveport. Funeral services were held at the home with Rev. E. L. Averett in charge. Pallbearers were Sen. John W. James, T. E. Gardner, Charles Sturdivant, R. C. Dark, L. N. Nunn and Clayton James. Following services interment was made in the Welcome Home cemetery under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home. Published in The Caldwell Watchman (Columbia, LA), Friday, November 7, 1941
