Bio

Mrs. Mattie Miles Mims of 650 Kings Hwy. died at 2 p.m. Friday at Highland Hospital following a lengthy illness. A resident of Shreveport for 25 years, Mrs. Mims was a native of Downsville. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Miles Mims of Lafayette and five sisters: Mrs. H. O. Roye of Downsville; Mrs. F. K. Ham of Monroe; Mrs. John Mitchell of Jackson, Miss.; Mrs. J. L. Wade of Arcadia and Mrs. Ruth Brazzil of Shreveport. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James W. Taylor, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park. Pallbearers will be E. H. Curtis, W. C. Johns, G. A. Wallace, Archie Roye, James Wade, James Richardson and Paul Richardson. Published in The Shreveport Times (LA), Saturday, September 19, 1964
