The Eugene Register-Guard Lane County, Oregon Saturday, January 29, 2011 Elva Vanek Elva May "Cricket" Vanek of Sargent, Neb., died Jan. 7 of age-related causes at age 85. A private family service was held in late January. She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Sargent, Neb., to Noel and Minnie Draper Amos. She married Charles Vanek on Aug. 31, 1947, in Broken Bow, Neb. He died June 2, 1982. She graduated from Sargent High School in 1942. Survivors include a brother, Larry Amos of Creswell; and a sister, Delores Kluma of Ord, Neb. Two sons, Terry and Rodney, died earlier. Burial was in the mausoleum at West Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
