The Eugene Register-Guard Lane County, Oregon Friday, June 4, 1982 Death Notices; Page 10D VANEK - Charles Vanek of 790 Greg Way, Eugene, died June 2, 1982 at the age of 60. He was born October 7, 1921, in Comstock, Nebraska. On August 31, 1947, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, he was united in marriage to the former Elva Mae (Crickett) [sic] Amos. They moved to Eugene from Nebraska in 1965. From 1952 until 1964, he and his brother owned and operated the International Harvester dealership in Silver Creek, Nebraska. He was a member of the Silver Creek Nebraska Fire Department and the American Legion Post of Silver Creek. At the time of his death, he was garage superintendent of the physical plant at the University of Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Elva Mae (Crickett) Vanek of Eugene; brothers, Ed Vanek of Silver Creek, Nebraska, Jerry Vanek of Ord, Nebraska; sister, Helen Kocourek of Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 1982, at 11 a.m. in ENGLAND'S EUGENE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Pearl at 18th. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call Sunday afternoon between the hours of 1 and 6 p.m. at the chapel.
