J.D. McKeown EMORY - J.D. McKeown, 91, of Mineola died Monday at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola. Son of T.C. and Rosa Lee Davis McKeown, he was born in Hopkins County [son of Tresvan Chapman McKeown and Rosa Lee Davis]. He married Allene Finley on May 28, 1976 in Lubbock [following the death of his first wife, Faye McCreight McKeown in 1975]. Mr. McKeown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an administrator in public schools for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. McKeown is survived by his wife of Mineola, daughter Sarah Schafer of Lewisville and one grandson. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
