Bio

Sister Mary Angelene Holzer, was also known as Sr. Archangela, was a Sister of Divine Providence, she entered eternal life at the age of 93 on January 16, 2011. She was the oldest of seven children born to Joseph and Frances Hlavenka Holzer. Sister Angelene grew up in Tours, Texas. At age fourteen she answered God's call to become a Sister of Divine Providence and made her first profession of vows at 20 years of age. During her 54 years ministering in education, she taught and at times was principal in schools in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Sister Angelene delighted in quality education from her teaching staff. Sister Angelene touched many lives through her love and care of students and teachers. In her fourteen years teaching at Moye Military she was house mother for many students. Many remembered her for her beautiful singing. In 1999 she retired to Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center. ____________________________
