Raymond J. Holzer, age 67, of Route 1, Elm Mott died Tuesday, June 20 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Rev Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery, Tours. Mr. Holzer was born August 31, 1921 in Tours. He was employed at Dallas Ciagarette Service for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He moved to Route 1, Elm Mott, in 1983 and lived there unitl his death. Mr. Holzer was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4819 in West. He was a member of St Martin's Catholic Church in Tours and was employed at J.D. Hardware Company in Tours for the past five years. He married Alice Lander in 1949 in Waco. Survivors include his wife; a brother Billy Holzer of Albuquerque, N.M.; Four sisters, Sister Angelia Holzer of San Antonio, Mrs. Billy (Dorothy) Courson of Dallas, Mrs. C.H. (Beatrice) Stewart of Waco and Mrs. H.H. (Genie) Staggs of Irving. Pallbearers were Robert Lucien, Alphonse Weinberger, Richard Hlavenka, Raymond Glatter, Henry Roessler and Frankie Podsednik. Honorary pallbearers were Jody Dulock and Edward Podsednik. Family has designated that memorials be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association. West News June 29, 1989
