Bio

John Schultz died at his home Monday, October 15, at 7:00 am. John was a good son, husband and father, and gave generously of his time and means for the welfare of his parents, brothers and sisters and his own immediate family. He was a good neighbor and true friend, and would always lend a hand whenever he was needed. During his active years he took great interest in the work of the Methodist Church, the Odd Fellows, Modern Woodmen and R N A Lodge, and the Farmers Union. He was Past Grand Master of Odd Fellows. Since retiring from active farm work he enjoyed gardening and caring for his trees on his farm. He loved children and enjoyed having them visit in his home and also enjoyed the visits with friends and neighbors. During his long illness he was faithfully and tenderly cared for by his wife, Nellie. He is survived by his wife, his sons, Kenneth and John Elvin, his daughter, Lavertta Nash, ten grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Lucy Britton of Ravenna; Mary Sholtz, Mattie Crowder and Sophia Hoskins, of Guide Rock; and Emma Frey of Denver, Colorado; and three brothers Lloyd of Hastings; Andrew of Denver, Colorado, and Clyde of Walla Walla, Washington. There are several nieces and nephews and other relatives. The parents and one sister, Julia Haskins preceded him in death.
