Cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend died at home. She moved to San Diego in 1936 and worked selling Navy uniforms during World War II. She was married for 51 years until her husband David's death in 1997. Affectionately known as "Mrs. S." to employees, for 25 years she owned and operated Sanderson Fixture Company, a San Diego food service equipment supply and design firm, with her husband. Mrs. Sanderson lived in El Cajon for the past 47 years. A member of the episcopal Cathedral church of St. Paul, San Diego for 50 years, she attended St. Alban's Episcopal Church for the past 5 years.An active member of the Eklonkeets of the El Cajon Elks Lodge 1812, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ausiliary and the Episcopal Church Women of St. Alban's, she was known especially for faithfulness, generosity, and humor. Mrs. Sanderson is survived by dauaghter Darlene Ross, son-in-law The Rev. George Ross, and granddaughter Noel Ross, all of Martinez, California; sister Irene Cretien of Lemon Grove; sister Daisy Fowler of El Cajon, four brothers and two sisters residing in Texas, Arizona and Nevada; and numerous nieces and cousins.
