THE PARIS NEWS-Jul.29,1991: CLARKSVILLE - Kenneth Sheppard, 79, of Clarksville died Saturday, July 27, in Red River General Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church with Ernie Harris, Mike House, Johnny Carter, A.B. Kellam and Weldon Thomas officiating. Clarksville Funeral Home will make burial in Annona Cemetery. Mr. Sheppard was born June 2, 1912, in Deport, a son of Hughie and Minnie Jumper Sheppard. He served in the Army during World War II and served as Red River County Clerk for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of the McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church, the Masonic lodge, Odd Fellows and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; two sons, Kenneth Sheppard Jr. of Commerce and Harold Sheppard of Clarksville; two daughters, Patsy Dial of Clarksville and Karen Carey of Commerce; one sister, Lula Mae Garrison of Annona; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
