OBIT: DEPORT TIMES 23 Aug 1945, Thursday, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Sgt. Era Lee Sheppard, 23, of Clarksville, former Deport resident, who was stationed in Kansas, was killed Tuesday evening in a car accident in Oklahoma. Sgt. Sheppard had been in the army for three years. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Minnie Sheppard, three brothers, Kenneth and C. P. of Clarksville and Tiny of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. Mae Garrison. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p. m. at the Baptist church at Annona and burial was there., Service No. (ASN): 18128380
