Pauline married Frank Smesny on April 29, 1913, in Frydek, Austin Co., Texas. They were the parents of four children; one daughter died in infancy. *********************************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE SEALY NEWS: Final Rites For Mrs. Pauline Smesny Held Monday Final rites for Mrs. Pauline Smesny were conducted at the Chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home here at 9 a.m. Monday, November 9, and continued at the Immaculate Conception Church at 9:30, with Rev. Ben Holub officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alvin Vesely, Louis Smesny, Felix and Willie Zapalac, Raymond Hradil, and Lawrence Sliva. Rosary recital was held at the Funeral Home Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Smesny was born Miss Pauline Zapalac in Ellinger on October 18, 1889. She was reared in Ellinger and attended the Ellinger Public School. On April 27, 1913 she was married to Frank Smesny in Sealy. She lived in the Frydek Community 46 years until she moved to Sealy two years ago. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sealy, and the KJZT Lodge of Frydek. Mrs. Smesny passed away at the Sealy Hospital at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, November 5, of a stroke, at the age of 75 years and 17 days. She had been ill five weeks. Survivors beside her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Joe Konarik of Victoria, and Mrs. Frances Novosad of Sealy; one son, Charlie A. Smesny of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Emily Zboril and Mrs. Joe Buchala of Frydek, Mrs. Frank Vesely of Sealy, and Mrs. John Baursuk of Orchard; four brothers, John and Joe Zapalac of Sealy and Chas. and Willie Zapalac of Frydek; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Frank Zapalac.
