Oscar was born about 1909 (1910 census)and died about 1914; s/o James D & Martha E Etheridge; From old records indicate he was about 5 when he died; Unconfirmed *********************************************************** Murder victim. A young life taken far too soon. He and his siblings Beulah, Harrison and Richard were all murdered through arsenic poisoning by their stepmother out of jealousy for their father showering all his affections upon his eight children. The stepmother was arrested, tried, found guilty, sentenced to four life terms with an additional five years on December 23, 1913 and imprisoned for the crimes.
