Tom Chism of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away in Hamlin. He was born in Stephens County, near Crystal Falls. He moved to Texas County, Oklahoma in 1906 and lived there until 1920 when he moved to Mora County, New Mexico. He was foreman on the Mora Valley Hereford Ranch, owned by C.F. Croley for several years. Since September 1948, he has made his home with his sister in Hamlin. He was a member of the Las Vegas Cattlemen's Association and a member of the Stamford Cowboy Reunion Association. Mr. Chism never married. Services were held in the Hamlin Church of Christ by Lee Rawlings, the local minister. Survived by four sisters - Kate Jones, Eliza Prosser, Almeda Crow, Ida Crow; four brothers - Ed Chism, John Chism, Wilburn Chism, Frank Chism; 30 nieces and nephews; 42 great nieces and nephews.
