Bio

J.M. Chism passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Crow. He and his wife were from Oney, Oklahoma, and had been visiting the homes of their two daughters - Mrs. Earl Crow and Mrs. F.M. Crow. Mr. Chism was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived a very devoted Christian life. Services were held in the First Church of Christ by Bruce Proctor, the minister. Survived by his wife; five daughters - Mrs. Earl Crow, Mrs. F.M. Crow, Mrs. Prosser, Mrs. Dave Jones, Miss Viola Chism, a teacher in Oney, Oklahoma; five sons - Tom, Frank, John, Wilburne, and Ed Chsim. All of the daughters and four of the sons were present at the funeral. Ed Chism was on his way to California and could not attend. James Chism married Mary Jane Richardson on 11 October 1874 in Fannin County, Texas. Three children were born into this union: - Tom Chism - Frank Chism - Sallie K Chism, wife of Mr. Jones. James Chism married Almeta Victoria McCready on 17 August 1881 in Crystal Falls, Texas. There were eight children born into this union that became adults: - McArthur Chism - Viola Chism, who never married - Eliza Chism, wife of A.R. Prosser - Almeda Chism, wife of F.M. Crow - Ida Chism, wife of W.E. Crow - John H Chism - E.A. Chism - C. Wilborn Chism
