Weeta Poss SAN ANGELO Weeta Poss, 82, passed from this life on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. She was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on Jan. 26, 1928, to Earl and Wessie Copeland. She married her life's mate, JOHN R. POSS JR. , on June 26, 1941, and they were together for 53 years until his death, Jan. 16, 1998. Weeta was a lifelong homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her oldest daughter, MARSHA KAYE (POSS)SANDERS ; and three grandchildren, KEVIN, SABRINA,& CORY SANDERS . She is survived by her son, KIRBY & WENDY (WALTERS) POSS ; her daughters, Maurie Farr and husband Jim, all of San Angelo; Marta Anderson and husband Rocky of Miles and Michelle Newell and husband Allen of Knickerbocker, Texas; sisters Muzette Closson of Fairfield, Calif., Cleea King of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Lois Weaver of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Duane Poss and wife Lori, Stephanie Poss Cumberledge and Wendi Rae Poss, Laurie Roberts, Jamie Thomas, Andrew Alwine, Patrick Anderson and wife Dara, Chelsea Young and husband Casey, Carlea Aguirre and husband James; 12 great-grandchildren; special niece Betty Coggin and husband Ervis; and numerous other nephews and nieces. Our family wishes to express our deepest thanks to Lighthouse Hospice, Dr. Walter Hewell and his wife, Helen Hewell, and the staff of Senior Care Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
