Bio

Kirby F. Poss went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 4, 2023. Kirby was born June 20, 1946 in San Angelo, where he lived all his life. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1964. He was the son of John and Weeta Poss of San Angelo. Kirby served the city of San Angelo as a police officer for 28 years when he retired. He was an avid sports fan. He coached little league, worked for the San Angelo Outlaws, and was an announcer for the San Angelo Colts. He also never missed a Dallas Stars game on television. He is proceeded in death by his father John, and mother Weeta, and sister Marsha Kaye. He is survived by his wife Wendy of 50 years, son Duane Poss (Lori), daughter Stephanie Cline (David), and daughter Wendi Morris (Jimmy). He was "Poppie" to his grandchildren Loren, Maddy, Steely, Zach, and Ryan, and great-grandchildren Daniel and Ben. They were the joy of his life. He is also survived by his sisters Maurie Allen (Bobby) Marta Grayson (J.B.), and Michelle Seay (Marvin), and many nieces and nephews. He was the best husband, father and grandfather we could have asked for and he will be forever missed. Shaffer Funeral Home San Angelo, TX
