The Belle Plaine Union, Wednesday, February 6th, 1952 page 9 The Z.C.B.J. hall in Clutier was filled to capacity on Sunday afternoon for the funeral services for Emil Dostal, 60, Clutier resident who died suddenly. Thursday afternoon January 31 of a heart attack. He was on his way home from town when he was stricken and died shortly after returning home William Peterzalek assisted him in getting home after he complained of not feeling well. Emil Dostal was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dostal Sr. and was born in Otter Creek township on October 11, 1891. His father died about two years ago and his mother in 1943. He was married to Julia Kosnar on February 6, 1917. He is survived by his wife and five children who are Mrs. Stanley (Pauline) Stodola, of Cedar Rapids; Joe and Charles, on farms near Clutier, Melvin, who works for the Hartwig Auto company; and Ruth Ann, a Clutier high school student; the latter two being at home. His surviving brothers and sisters are James Dostal, near Traer, Joe and Charles near Elberon, Mrs. Albert Vileta, Mrs. James Hrstka and Mrs. Emma Plucar, all of the Elberon community; Mrs. Fred Salasek, Marshalltown, Mrs. Charles Chalupsky, LaPorte City, Mrs. Art Finzen, Buckingham, and Mrs. Louis Wiebbecke, Clutier. Mr. and Mrs. Dostal farmed northeast of Clutier, until they bought a home and retired here in 1948. The services were in charge of Rev Alvin Van Schooten and interment was in National cemetery near Vining. Casket bearers were Charles Petra, Louis Konicek, Frank Hlavacek, Fed Hadacek, William Hach and Lester Chrudimsky. Miss Luella Hora was the organist and Mrs. John Boll and Mrs. Frank Hadacek sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "God Will Take Care of You." Mrs. Leo Parizek and Mrs. Evelyn Noe were in charge of flowers.
