JoAnn (Nawara) Parr, 67, of Needville, TX, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Richmond, TX. Born September 2, 1943 to Gus Nawara and Loyline (Brau) Nawara in Richmond, TX. She was raised in Ft. Bend County. JoAnn worked for the Needville ISD as a cook and retired in 2003 after 27 years of service. JoAnn did embroidery work, played dominoes, listened to polka music and cooked by taste hardly ever using recipes. On October 1, 1960 the former Miss JoAnn Nawara was joined in marriage to Mr. Raymond Parr with a ceremony held in Needville. She was a member of the Needville Methodist Church and the Wallis Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM and visitation will be held on Monday, October, 25, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM all from the Knesek & Sons Funeral Chapel, 122 N 1st (FM 1093) in Wallis with Rev. Richard Wayne Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallis City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Garcia, David Welch, Scan Gutierrez, Carl Cearly, Thomas Moore and Kenny Brau. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Resales and Steven Parr, nephew, Buster Parr, other nieces, nephews and cousins, and good friends, Bo Sosa, Butch Kucera and Jerry Garner. JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Doris Parr Rosales and companion Bo Sosa of Needville, sons, Travis Parr of Newgulf and Raymond (J.R.) Parr, Jr. of Wallis, brother, Gus Nawara and wife Pam of Beasley, grandsons, Christopher Adam Parr Rosales and fiance Amanda Ethridge and Steven Ray Parr all of Needville and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Loyline Nawara and husband, Raymond Parr, Sr.
