Oct 6, 2025: Surname on headstone is Wilson. I have been unable to find that Floy ever married a Mr. Wilson after Oliver Wright died in 1996, but it is possible. It is also possible that the engraver wrote the wrong surname on her headstone. MHF

Bio

Floy Jane Wright, 89, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed from this life Monday, November 22, 2010. Floy was born in Jones County, Texas, on March 22, 1921, to John J. Wells and Plumer L. (Varner) Wells. Throughout her life, she worked at many jobs in the Sand Springs area. Her favorite job was working for the Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce as a receptionist. Floy enjoyed working with crafts. She was very talented in flower arranging. She loved to work and travel with the Senior Citizens group. Floy helped to make Christmas dolls for children's gifts. Her beautiful smile and great attitude will be missed by her family and friends. Floy was preceded in death by her parents John and Plumer Wells; husband Oliver Wright; and 11 siblings including her twin Roy Wells. She is survived by son; granddaughter and husband; grandson; three step-children; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; great-granddaughter; two sisters; many other extended family and relatives. Funeral services for Floy will be Friday, November 26, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Larry Warnock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Visitation for Floy will be Tuesday and Wednesday, November 23rd and 24th, from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
