Funeral Services for Harvey Dean "Buddy" Richter, 81, of Rosenberg, TX, are set for 10 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461, with the Rev. Dr. Dale Staggemeier officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Serving as Pallbearers will be Derek Baca, Brett Baca, Jim Baca, Mark Richter, Lauren Richter, and Alvis Schmidt. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Garmany & Carden Chapel, Needville, TX. Harvey Dean Richter was born January 2, 1929, in Needville, TX, to Willie Charles Richter and Ida Lena Warncke Richter, who preceded him in death. He went to our Savior on November 14, 2010, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 12 days. Harvey graduated from Richmond High School in 1947. He attended Wharton Jr. College for 2 years and attended Sam Houston State Trade School for 2 years. He was employed by the Houston Post newspaper in 1951 as an independent operator, who ran an open newspaper route for 31 years from Rosenberg via Needville, Guy, and Damon. When he retired, he enjoyed playing dominoes and watching TV, especially the game shows. Survivors include one brother, Ivan L. Richter of Rosenberg, TX; niece, Sharon Richter Baca and husband, Jim, of Sugar Land, TX; nephew, Mark Richter, of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
