Bio
Services for Annie Martha Poehl, 93, of Caldwell, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, at Lyons Evangelical United Church of Christ, with Pastor John Boydston officiating. Interment will follow in Birch Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. also at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Poehl passed away September 12, 2010, in Caldwell, Texas. Annie was born September 22, 1916, to William Poehls and Emma Zwahr Poehls, in the Birch Community. She married Oscar George Poehl on October 28, 1937. Annie was very active in nursery home activities and she was the attendance clerk at Burleson St. Joseph. She was an avid domino player and also enjoyed bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sisters, Alvina Schultz and Emma Schultz; and four brothers, Herman Poehls, Ernest Poehls, Willie Poehls, and Walter Poehls; three half brothers and one half sister. Annie is survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Lyons Evangelical United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 440, Lyons, Texas 77863.
