Bio

Tom B. "Tommy" Taylor was born June 15, 1912, in Daisetta, to Gilber G. Taylor and Emma Young Taylor, and died April 17, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A lifetime resident of the Daisetta area, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Liberty County Precinct 1 with 33 years of service. He was a previous employee of the Vernon Palmer Ranch, where he worked for nine years. He was a member and deacon of Central Baptist Church. Taylor enjoyed working cattle, spending time outdoors, doing yardwork and gardening, and participating in church activities. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Jessie Taylor, Gilbert Taylor, Jr., Leroy Taylor, Robert Taylor, Grady Taylor, Pat Taylor and Roy Taylor; and one sister, Maude Nugent. Survivors include his wife, Shattie Fregia Taylor of Daisetta; sons, Tommy A. Taylor and his wife, Marie, of Raywood and Granville J. Taylor of Raywood; two brothers, Morgan Taylor of Raywood and Nolan Taylor of Raywood; four sisters, Eunice Mae Taylor Kirkendall of Daisetta, Shrini Mae Fregia of Raywood, Kathleen Berryhill of Daisetta and Nadine Phillips of Batson; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
