Claiborne County Obituaries 1940-1949 by Mark and Phyllis Treadway CHUMLEY, NEAL-Jan 23, 1947 Funeral services for Neal Chumley of Rt. 1, Tazewell, Tenn., who died January 8, were held Friday at noon at Blair's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Vancel officiating. The pallbearers were Oscar Kesterson, Odell Ford, Roy Freemon, Creed Minton, Herman Brooks, Everett Sandifer, R. J. Clyne, Hedreik Wylie, Park Owens and Earl McDowell. The flowere bearers were Christine Freemon, Eileen Estes, Statie Vancel, Maureen Chumley, Maggie Chumley, Edwens McDowell, Cornie Bell Vancel, Maude Chumley, Shirley Gordon and Betty Jean Powell. The song service was by the church choir. Burial was in the Chumley family cemetery.
