Funeral services for Albert Walters, 87, of Lebanon, were held at Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Marie Smith officiating. Mr. Walters died June 9, at Wallace Hospital. Joan Rowden, Lois Rowden and Barbara Swanigan sang "If We Never Meet Again," "Beyond the Sunset," and "Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Bill Vernon, organist. Interment was in the Mt. Rose Memorial Park, with services under the direction of the Palmer Funeral Home. Escorts were Glenn Walters, Bill Walters, Jerry Walters, Kenneth Walters, Charles Walters, and Donald Lee Walters. Albert Walters was born January 25, 1875 in Camden County, but had lived in Lebanon a number of years. At an early age he united with the Free Will Baptist Church at Russ. He was united in marriage to Mary Rhodes on October 11, 1895, and to this union nine sons and two daughters were born. His wife, one daughter and two sons preceded him in death. Survivors include seven sons, Vernie, Kansas City; Opel, Salem, Oregon; Edgar and Preston, Springfield; Lee, Joe and Chester Walters, all of Lebanon; one daughter, Mrs. Icel Jenkins, Lebanon. He also leaves 37 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Obit provided by Mardi
