s/o Albert and Mary WALTERS, Vernie born June 22, 1901, died April 1985. Son of Albert Walters and Mary Rhoads Walters. Married, August 5, 1936, to Mamie Velma Brown. Services for Vernie Walters, 83, Lebanon, will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Holman Chapel with the Rev. Don Karriker officiating. Burial will be In McBride Cemetery near Lebanon. Mr. Walters died of natural causes at 2 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 1985, in Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center. Survivors include two daughters, Ima J. Ballard, Liberty, and Barbara Vann, Lawson; three sons, Jerrell, Lebanon, Jerry, Lawson, and Tony, Kansas City; five brothers, Joe and Chester, both of Lebanon, Cricket, Salem, Ore., and Press and Edgar, both of Springfield; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
