THURSTON, Neb. -- Louis S. Kratky, 76, of Thurston, surrounded by the love of his family, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Pender Care Centre in Pender, Neb. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, Neb., with the Rev. Michael Malloy officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Visitation will continue 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Emerson. Louis was born on Nov. 1, 1933, at Prague, Neb., to Louis and Marie (Frohner) Kratky. He graduated from Thurston High School in 1951. He served his country from 1954 to 1956. He was a longtime farmer in the Thurston area. Louis was united in marriage to Jeannie Wilke on Oct. 12, 1957. To this union three daughters were born, Denise, Kathy and Carolyn. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Thurston American Legion, and Holy Name. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie of Thurston; daughters, Denise Kaup and her husband, Gene of Oakland, Neb., Kathy Webster and her husband, Gregg of Pender and Carolyn Boline and Doug Lange of Las Vegas, Nev.; one granddaughter, Lynna Webster; one sister, Leona Doupnik and her husband, Glen of Pender; one brother, Gene Kratky of Thurston; several nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law; and a host of relatives and friends.
