Claude Moss, 90, of Waco, passed away March 7, 2001, at a local nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2001, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Mitchell Parrish officiating and the Rev. Nathan Stones and Ulas Jones assisting. Interment will follow at Gerald Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Moss was born Feb. 19, 1911, in King, Texas, to Lee and Maggie Moss. He grew up in the Crawford area. Claude had farmed in Leroy, Mt. Calm and Axtell and ranched for a few years with Hereford cattle. He worked for Cameron Mills for about 20 years until his retirement. Claude loved the rodeo, as well as gardening and picking up pecans. He enjoyed listening to country and western and gospel music. Claude was a devoted grandfather and had a good sense of humor. Mr. Moss was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and granddaughter, Sheila Richard in 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Moss and husband Richard of Waco; granddaughters, Debra Chapman and husband Rick of Nacogdoches and Michelle Hartom and husband John of Waco; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandsons; brother Lawrence Moss of Mt. Calm; and sister, Ruby Lumpkin of Clifton. Mr. Moss's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to International Retts Syndrome Association, Clinton MD. Connally Compton, Waco, Texas.
