Bio
Ruby O. Lumpkin, 90, of Clifton, Texas, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010, at Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility in Clifton. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Clifton Cemetery with Pastor John Wheatley of Valley Mills Baptist Church officiating. Ruby Odessa was born in Gatesville, Texas, to the late Robert Lee Moss and Maggie Sanders Moss. She attended schools in Crawford. On Jan. 29, 1938, she married Thomas Floyd Lumpkin in Waco. She had lived in Clifton since 1941. She was a housewife and mother and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and growing flowers. She loved life in general. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lumpkin; and great-grandson, Adam Selman. Survivors include sons, Lloyd Lumpkin and wife, Peggy, of Valley Mills and Bobby Joe Lumpkin and wife, Roxie, of Hewitt; daughters, LaVern Wilcox and husband, Tommy, of Clifton, Geneva Casey and husband, Albert, of Clifton, and Sandra Clark and husband, Rodger, of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Stanley Wilcox, Renee Baucom, Rubyn Garrett, Jeanne Barrett, Bobby Dale Lumpkin, Shawn Lane, Jason Devers, Leslie Engledow, and Rena Selby; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
