From The Wolbach Messenger, January 7, 1954, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Bartunek Succumbs Sunday - Word was received here this week of the death of Mrs. Frank Bartunek, 75, who passed away Sunday afternoon at a hospital in Fairmont, Minnesota. She and her husband have been making their home with their daughter, Mrs. Robert Flynn at Fairmont, Minnesota since last spring. Mrs. Bartunek suffered a stroke in the fall and had been a patient at the hospital there until the time of her death. (funeral information followed). Wolbach Messener, January 7, 1954, page 1 Bartunek Rites Last Wednesday - (Funeral information listed) Albina Josephine Schachl was born in Vienna, Austria on Dec. 11, 1878 and passed away in the Community Hospital at Fairmont, Minnesota on Sunday January 3, 1954 at the age of 75 years and 23 days. She came to this country when two years old and resided in New Jersey while a young girl. Sixty-two years ago she moved with her parents to Nebraska where they lived on a farm near St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Frank Bartunek at St. Paul on Dec. 21, 1895. They settled on a farm near Wolbach. Later they retired and moved to town, where she has since made her home. To this union two children Paul and Anna, were born, Anna now Mrs. Robert Flynn of Fairmont, Minn. Her son, Dr. Paul Bartunek of Knoxville, Iowa preceded her in death. She was active in Lodge work and held the highest offices in the Rebekah, the Royal Neighbors and the Order of the Eastern Star and was also a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Bartunek was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolbach and until illness prevented she was faithful in attendance. She is survived by her husband; one daughter; five granddaughters, Mrs. H. Ohlhansen (Beverly Bartunek), Biloxi, Miss; Paula and Sandra Bartunek, Knoxville, Iowa, daughters of Mrs. Lillian Bartunek and the late Dr. Paul Bartunek, Roberta and Mary Flynn, daughters of Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Flynn of Fairmont, Minn; and one sister, Mrs. Anna DeVry of Watertown, S. D.
