Jeroma A. Pavel, age 92 years of Clarkson, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. Father Tim Forget will celebrate the Mass, and interment will be at Clarkson Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church. There will be a Wake Service at 7:00 PM Monday at the church. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at church. The family suggests memorials be directed to SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church or the Clarkson Museum. Jeroma was born on June 13, 1918, to Anton and Anne (Maliha) Fendrick on the family farm in the Wilson area of Colfax County. She attended rural Dist 34 school, and then moved to Omaha where she worked as a nanny. She returned to the Wilson area and worked with her brothers as a clerk at the Bissell country store. On May 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Louis John Pavel at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler. The couple lived in Wayne, NE, and Leavenworth, KS, where she worked as a maid. They moved to Clarkson in May of 1945 and made it there permanent home. Jeroma enjoyed caring for her family, sewing, canning and crocheting. She was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, and she was a past member of Clarkson Women's Club. Jeroma is survived by son: David (Lynn) Pavel of West Des Moines, IA Granddaughter: Sarah (Patrick) Rutledge of Louisville, NE Sister: Lillian Reznicek of Dodge, NE Sister: Lorene Hegemann of Howells, NE Sister: Arlene Hegemann of Howells, NE many nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by Parents: Anton and Anne Fendrick Husband: Louis Pavel who died in 1990 Son: Duane Pavel who died in 2007 5 brothers: Lumir, Milo, Jerome, Loren and Dennis Fendrick Sister: Helen Fendrick
