Orpha Roy, 83, Royce Roy Road, Russell Springs, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown. She was born in Russell County, Ky. on July 23, 1923, a daughter of the late Lester B. and Rosa Meece Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ralph D. (and Wilma) Roy of Jamestown, and James V. (and Louise) Roy of Frankfort, Ky.; a daughter, Sandra Walters, Somerset; two sisters, Mildred Wilson, Russell Springs, and Eleanor Ann Rogers, Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Royce "Demp" Roy; a sister, Alpha Hammond; and five brothers, Arrell Otis Smith, Arlie Smith, A.K. Smith, Doris L. Smith, and Jerry D. Smith. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at noon Central time at Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. James Powell and Rev. Clarence Bertram officiating. Special music will be provided by Mildred Wilson, Brenda Root, and Donna Floyd. Burial will be in the Coffey's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Byron Walters, Anthony Walters, Chris Roy, Terry Grider, R.L. Luttrell, and Roger Roy.
