Bio

Dr. Mask was the son of John Mask and Rebecca Jane Neyland Mask. He married 1. Harriett Sophronia Baker on Aug. 13, 1871 in Arcadia, Bienville Parish, LA. They were the parents of Eliza Rebecca (Holmes), Emma Pamelia (Dickerson), John Bartholomew, Sarah Martha Ann (Welch), *Wesley Byron Jr., Samuel Talley, Thomas Dick and Leila Ada Mask. Dr. Mask practiced medicine in Shreveport and Liberty Hill, LA and Longview, Texas. He married 2. Mary Ann (Annie) Hagens, of Longview, Texas on Dec. 6, 1896; no children. Dr. Mask's siblings: William H., John T., Charlotte Jane, Mary Ann Elizabeth, Martha A., James W., Caroline C., Emily Conrad, twins-Dr. Thomas Warren and Sarah Alabama, and R. R. Mask. In Liberty Hill, Dr. Mask rented a house next door to him to a black man and his wife, Frank and Suzie Anderson. He delivered their children, Tempy and Isaiah Anderson. Tempy was born in 1910 and died in 1978 in Monroe, LA.
