Fremont Tribune (Fremont, Nebraska) 15 Aug 1936, Sat Page 3 Service Held For Former Hooperite Vlasak Funeral Is Held at Dodge Dodge, Aug. 15 - Funeral services for Frank E. Vlasak were held at the chapel of the Bohemian National cemetery northeast of Dodge Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Thomsen of Lyons in charge. Mr. Vlasak was born in Zruch, Czechoslovakia, November 14, 1875. He died at his home in Lyons, Neb., Monday afternoon from self-inflicted shot gun wounds at the age of 60 years. He came to America in the year 1883 to Cuming county where he lived on a farm for two years, then farmed in Knox county for three years, then moved to Dodge. In 1898 he married Emma Hobel of Clarkson, and then settled in Clarkson. His next home was in Omaha as hotel proprietor. He sold out at Omaha and moved to Hooper in 1904. He remained in business in Hooper for 21 years. December 21, 1921 he married Amelia L. Nielsen. They lived in Hooper until 1928 when they moved to Lyons to engage in the hotel business. Surviving are his wife Amelia, one son, William of Omaha, one daughter, Helen Riddle of Omaha; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Hunter, Omaha; Mrs. Charles E. Mack, Hooper, and Mrs. Joe E. Stipsky, Hooper; two brothers, Joe J. of Lindsay, Neb., and Harry J. of Hooper.
