LAURA DICKENS Rosie Laura Dickens, 78, of Maud, Texas, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in a Granbury, Texas, nursing home. Mrs. Dickens was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Maud. She was a librarian?s assistant at Maud Public Library and a member of Maud Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Van Dickens. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Deon Dickens of Granbury; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Earlene and Tommy Griffin and Nancy Marie and Richie Mayhew of Bay City, Texas; one brother; four sisters; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Maud Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Elmer Whalen officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Maud Church of God of Prophecy Sign Fund, P.O. Box 58, Maud, Texas, or the Maud Public Library.
