Bio

Mary M. Gill Godbold, 83, of McComb, died Feb. 4, 2009, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and 10 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Karen Koons Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Mrs. Godbold was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Franklin County, to George and Leona Howard Gill. She was a homemaker and for many years worked at Vest Shoes and First National Bank, now Trustmark. She was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Cecilian Circle and the J.O. Emmerich Sunday School Class. She was a former longtime member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was very involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Godbold was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Patrick Godbold; an infant son, Loubet Brock; two brothers and two sisters.
