Bio

Luther W. Gill, 84, of Brookhaven, died Dec. 1, 2003, at his residence. Services were 11 a.m. today at Community Funeral Services in Brookhaven, with the Rev. James A. Case officiating. Burial was in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven. Mr. Gill was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Franklin County. He was the son of George W. Gill and Leona Howard.He was retired and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Hilda Rae Rollins Gill of Brookhaven; one son, Elton W. Gill of Brookhaven; two daughters, Doris Rae Gill and Betty Buckles, both of Brookhaven; two brothers, Clyde Gill of Bude and Chester Gill of New Orleans; one sister, Mary Godbold of McComb; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
