Bio

Marie Koetter, age 87, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Monday evening, May 28, 2007, at Hospice of Wichita Falls. A vigil service and rosary was 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. David Kraeger officiating. Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home. Marie was born March 6, 1920 in Windthorst, Texas to Jacob Pennartz and Anne Schreiber Pennartz. She graduated from Windthorst, Texas. She and Alvin Koetter were married May 5, 1947 in Windthorst, Texas. Mrs. Koetter was a lifelong resident of Windthorst and a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers' Society. She loved to quilt quilts for the Christian Mothers' Society and all of her family members. Survivors include four sons, George Koetter and wife, Rosie; Vincent Koetter and wife, Patricia; Dennis Koetter and wife, Linda; Richard Koetter; two daughters, Gladys Koetter; Jennine Long and husband, John. One brother, Henry Pennartz and wife, Mildred. One sister, Helen O'Neil and husband, Gene. Twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin on April 6, 1986; one daughter-in-law, Holly Koetter on January 31, 1997; six brothers; and four sisters.
