Arcadia Champion, Arcadia, Nebraska, Thursday, February 24, 1910, Page 2, Col 3 Obituary A faithful wife and loving mother was called to her home in Heaven, Thursday Feb. 10, 1910. When Mrs. August Luedtke was taken from our midst. Mrs. Luedtke has lived in this community for 33 years, being brought from her parents home, a bride; to the farm where she spent her entire married life. She had been confined to her bed for almost two months, had grown very weak and about three weeks before her death underwent an operation for gall stones. Death came as above state, she being conscious and recognizing the entire family a few moments before she passed away. Heart failure was the final cause of her death, she expressed herself as ready to go, and made the remark to her husband and children during her sickness “it is all right with me either way it goes”, and bade them not grieve for her. Sarah Rosella Luedtke was born near Dubuque Iowa, Nov. 20, 1854 and died at Arcadia, Nebr. Feb. 10, 1910. She was married to Mr. Luedtke Feb. 12, 1876. Her own father performing the ceremony, he being a Minister of the Gospel. Deceased leaves a husband, five children, three sons and two daughters to mourn her loss. Her children all grown, the youngest being twenty years of age; she also had five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday forenoon by Rev. Evans of Arcadia. Appropriate music was rendered by the singers and after the friends and relatives took their last look at the deceased, they wended their was to the Lee Park cemetery, where the cherished form was consigned to the earth.
