Bio

Born in Indiana, the 3rd child of of William Riley Mead & Malinda Clipp. As a child, she moved to Illinois and then to Kansas. Florence Mead married Joel S. Tenney 27 July 1890. They were living in Elk City, Kansas in 1892 when their only child, Chloe Mary Tenney, was born. Florence and Joel lived in Hockerville, Oklahoma in 1924 and sometime around 1925 moved to Central City, Jasper County, Missouri where they purchased and operated a grocery store. Joel also worked on the railroad while Florence ran the grocery store. Florence also was a fine photographer.
