Malinda "Linnie" Clipp was thought to have been born in the 45th district, Harrison County, Indiana, in 1850. Her parents were Isaac Clipp and Nancy Crook Clipp. Linnie married William Riley Mead, 12 June 1866 at New Albany, Indiana. Their first 4 children were born in Indiana. According to Census Report in 1880, they lived At Jonathan Creek, Moultrie County, Illinois, where another child was born. They then moved to Fredonia, Wilson Co, Kansas, around 1882 and their last 5 children were born there. Sometime between 1893 and 1900, they moved to Missouri and listed in the Pineville, McDonald Co, Missouri, 1900 and 1910 Census. They are buried alongside each other at Tracy Cemetery, in Anderson, McDonald Co, Missouri. Linnie's mother, Nancy Clipp, is listed in the 1880 Census for Jonathan Creek township, Moultrie Co, Illinois, as living in the household of her daughter, Malinda and her husband W.R. Mead. She is listed as age 64. Her husband, Issac, died in 1868. Information is from Beth Tallon's 'Who's Who in the Mead Family' book and compilation of her genealogy research.
