John J. Kasper son of Joseph and Maria Kasper.John J. Kasper married Bertha Kainer on January 14,1930. Kasper, John J. Sr. Ex-Butcher John Kasper Dead at 81 Funeral services for John J. Kasper Sr., 81, of Weimar were held Saturday, April 11, from St. Michael's Catholic Church, with burial in the parish cemetery. Father Charles Carolan officiated. Mr. Kasper, a retired butcher and former partner in Kasper Meat Market, died at 5 a.m. on April 10 in Youens Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for three days. He had been ill for several years. A lifelong Weimar resident, he was born February 15, 1900, a son of Joseph and Mary (Schilhab) Kasper. He married Bertha Kainer here. Mr. Kasper began in the meat business as an employee of his brother Steve, owner of the Kasper Market, in 1934. He and his son, John Kasper, Jr., bought the business in 1957. He retired in 1966, selling his interest to his partner. He was a member of the Weimar Knights of Columbus Council and St. Joseph Society. His wife survives him, along with their son and daughter-in-law, John and Aileen Kasper of Weimar; five grandchildren, Barney Kasper of Victoria, Mrs. Cynthia Phelps of Sugar Land, and Maurice, Jean and Francis Kasper of Weimar; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Andres of Weimar, Mrs. Joe Wanja of Columbus, Mrs. Martha Beck of San Antonio and Mrs. Alfred Schindler of Schulenburg; and one brother, Edmund Kasper of Schulenburg. Two brothers, Joe and Steve Kasper, preceded him in death. Pallbearers were Charlie Anders, Edwin Anders, Glen Hoegemeyer, Joe Orsak, Alfred E. Schindler, and Leroy Schindler.
