Mrs. Alexander, 95, died Monday at Citizens General Hospital. Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory in charge. Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner, Wed, 24 Oct 1990, page A3, Obituaries, Ethel Alexander EMORY - Funeral services for retired Emory businesswoman Ethel Alexander, 95, will be today at 2 p.m. at Emory Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Alexander officiating, and Rev. Rodney Williams assisting. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery. Mrs. Alexander died Monday evening at Citizens General Hospital. Born on Sept. 4, 1895, in Rains County, she was the daughter of Ed and Lena Ward Toles. On June 10, 1916, she married George B. Alexander, in Emory. Mrs. Alexander was a former owner of a produce store on the corner of the square in Emory from 1941 until her retirement, and member of Nazarene Church. Survivors include two sons, G.B. Alexander of Emory and Rev. Lee Alexander of Commerce; four daughters, Marie Perkins of Dallas, Ethel Mae Peeples Vera of Mesquite, Pauline Pennington and Rev. Vernell Nelson, both of Greenville; one brother, Edward Toles of Emory; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Ruben Alexander and two brothers, Lonnie Toles and Zeke Toles. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory is in charge of arrangements.
