MRS. JOHN F. ROURKE, 61 - Mrs. John Rourke died in the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, in Hall County, Nebraska, after a lingering illness of several months, on March 18, 1920. She was born (nee Alice Mohatt) in the year of 1859 in Rochester, New York. In 1879, she married John Rourke, and eleven children were born to them, all of whom are now alive, but one daughter who died ten months ago. She was aged 61 years, four months and 19 days at the time of her passing. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and the last rites of that faith were lovingly administered to her in the hospital. She is survived by her bereaved husband and also by three daughters, Mrs. M. E. Ferguson, Mrs. Ray Stricklin, and Miss Rita Rourke; and by seven sons, Edmund Rourke, Edward, John, Charles, Arthur, Alfred and Sylvester Rourke, all of whom were present, and also by 27 grandchildren. Following funeral rites in the Church, burial was made of Mrs. Rourke in the Dale Cemetery near Merna, Custer County, Nebraska. Present were the M. E. Ferguson family of Masters Colorado, Charles Rourke of Gillette, Wyoming, the Edward W. Rourke family of Sutherland, Nebraska, Mrs. J. P. Rourke and Mrs. Charles Rourke of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Clem Mohatt of Dalton, Nebraska and John Craig of Missouri Valley, Iowa. (Custer County Chief, Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska)
