Bio

Thank you to FamilyRoots04 providing a given name for this fella so that a Missouri death certificate was located for exact death dates. FamilyRoots04 gives a birth date of approximately 1857, death certificate gives 1845......you can use that information as you will. Also, gives second wife info, Rhoda was married to Joseph's brother Asa, before marrying Joseph. ================================================================== It appears that the birth date given by his son-in-law on his death certificate was incorrect. His brother's obituary (which lists his residence and name) lines up with census records that put them both in the family of William Henry Shockey and Sarah Alexander, and all place Joseph's birth around 1857 (plus in 1845, his parents would have been 13). Joseph was widowed in 1915 and his brother died in 1911. Sometime before 1920 he married his sister-in-law Rhoda; in 1920 three of his nephews/step-sons were living with them.
