The Schuyler Sun (Schuyler, Nebraska) 14 May 1964, Thu Page 5 Saunders County man dies at rest home Funeral service for Joseph Vavak, 83, retired Saunders County farmer, was conducted Friday at Kucera Funeral Home in Prague. The Rev. Donald Proett officiated. Burial was in National Cemetery in Prague. Raymond and Frederick Houfek and Marjorie Proett provided the music. Pallbearers were Edward and Joseph Kliment, Stanley Fencl, Charles Prochaska, David and Daniel Bauer. Mr. Vavak died Wednesday, May 6, at Beebe Retirement Home in Schuyler where he resided the past four years. The body lay in state at Bideaux Kucera Rozanek Funeral Chapel until 4 p.m., Thursday, when removal was made to Prague. A native of Prague, Mr. Vavak was born March 12, 1881. He was never married. Surviving are a brother, Otto of Oregon, and two sisters, Mrs. Marie E. Hines of North Bend, and Mrs. Olga Anderson of Central City.
