For unknown reasons, James changed the spelling of last name from original family name Fiala to Feala. North Bend Eagle (North Bend, Nebraska) 01 Mar 1951, Thu Page 1 James Feala Dies Friday At His Home James Feala, a native Nebraskan and long tine resident of this community, died Friday, February 23, at his farm home one and a half miles northwest of town. He had been ill for the past three months. James P. Feala, son of Anton and Anna Roubal Feala [Fiala] was born in Saunders county, March 26, 1871. He grew to manhood on the farm and was married to Miss Mary Rerucha. Most of their married life was spent on the farm near North Bend. Mrs. Feala passed away in a Schuyler hosptial on May 1, 1938. Mr. Fiala is survived by two sons, James and George of North Bend; four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Scott of North Bend, Mrs. Julia Malloy, Mrs. Tillie Swan, and Mrs. Alice Helgenberter, all of Omaha; twelve grandchildren; three brothers, John of North Bend, Frank of El Cajon, California, Emil of Omaha, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Balija of Bridgman, Michigan. Funeral services conducted by Rev. John P. Hilt, were held Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A brief services at the home preceded the one at the Church. Miss Ann Wewall at the organ was accompanist for the choir, which sang the Requiem Mass. Pall bearers were Mike Chapman, Paul Lux, Anton Hobza, Emil Cihacek, Jack Kelly and M.F. Gaughen. Burial was made in the Killian cemetery near Morse Bluff. The Sellhorn Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
